Introduction
"When I arrived in America, though I had left the war physically far behind, in my mind, the soldiers were still chasing to kill me, my stomach was always hungry, and my fear and distrust kept me from opening up to new friendships"(Loung Ung). Many people died during the Cambodian Genocide because Khmer Rouge had vision of making a pure Cambodia. He want everyone to be "equal" so decided to get ride of social classes. He did not want people from high class or with an education so he decided to get ride of them. Once he got ride of them the rest of the people were forced to work as farm workers. People did not just have to work they were had to work without pay. Beside not being paid they worked in harsh conditions such as not being feed enough, and being punish for not wanting to do their work. Many people were left behind by their families during the Cambodian Genocide. Many of them were left behind by their families, because their families wanted them to survive and not suffer what they were going to suffer. They were able to survive thanks to their familie. Now they are alive trying to forget the bad memories and have a better life.
